Uefa Cup: Drogheda United got their Uefa Cup campaign off to a shaky start with a 1-1 draw against Libertas in San Marino this evening while St Patrick's Athletic were held to a scoreless draw by Odense at Richmond Park.

Eamon Zayed opened the scoring for Paul Doolin's side just before half-time but that lead was cancelled out by Nanni ten minutes from time.

Nevertheless, with home advantage to come in the return leg on August 2nd, Drogheda will still fancy their chances of making it through to the second qualifying round.

St Pat's face a tougher assignment but manager John McDonnell will have been pleased his side didn't concede a crucial away goal.

Elsewhere, Dungannon Swifts earned a 1-0 win over FK Suduva but Glentoran suffered a 5-0 home defeat at the hands of AIK Solna.
