League champions Drogheda United have signed Senegalese under-23 international Ibrahima Thiam Iyane ahead of the new season.

The 6' 6" former Lens and PSG striker, described by new manager Paul Doolin as a "giant, but very mobile too", impressed during a recent trial period with the Co Louth club.

"I was impressed with Ibrahima against Wisla Krakow," explained Doolin, referring to the recent pre-season friendly. "He adds something different to the team."

Drogheda open their season on Tuesday night when they face Irish League side Cliftonville in the first round of the Setanta Cup.
