Shay Given has been picked to make his league debut for Stoke City in their Premier League clash with Spurs this evening, just two days before his 40th debut.

Given comes in in the absence of Jack Butland who is out for the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle while playing for England.

September 22nd was the last club game Shay Given featured in, when he kept a clean sheet in the Capital One Cup against Fulham.

He was still playing for Ireland at that stage but an injury sustained in the first half of the Germany game in October saw him helped off, allowing Darren Randolph to impress since.
