Republic of Ireland fringe player Kevin Foley will leave Luton Town this week and join Mick McCarthy at Wolves for an undisclosed fee.
Foley's transfer remains subject to a medical but he is likely to sign a three-year-deal at Molineaux tomorrow. The fee is thought to be in the region of €1 million, rising to €1.4 million on appearances.
"Kevin is a young, bright, attacking full-back who will give us added competition for places," said McCarthy. "He is hungry to do well and the sort of player who meets the club's aspirations."
Foley, a smart footballing defender, is keen to return to the Championship following Luton's relegation to League One last season.
Having progressed through the youth ranks at Luton - where he was twice voted the club's young player-of-the-season - the 22-year-old has gone on to make eight under-21 appearances for the Republic.
He also played in the 'B' international against Scotland last November and has featured in some of Steve Staunton's senior squads but usually as a late addition for an injured player.
Indeed, he travelled to San Marino with the team for last February's qualifier win after Newcastle's Steve Carr withdrew with a thigh strain.
Foley will team-up with compatriots Andy Keogh, Stephen Elliott, Stephen Ward, Gary Breen, Darren Potter, Stephen Gleeson and Kevin O'Connor at Wolves.
