Hungarian trialist Peter Halmosi will not be offered a full-time contract with Celtic, manager Gordon Strachan said today.
The 26-year-old Debrecen winger, who faced Manchester United in a Champions League qualifier in August, wanted a Glasgow move but Strachan is not convinced the signing would improve his squad.
The Celtic boss has already signed Mark Wilson from Dundee United during the January transfer window and Kenny Miller and Gary Caldwell on pre-contract agreements.
Strachan said: "There'll be nothing happening with Halmosi. He's a good player all right, but he's not so outstanding as to be better than the lads we already have at the football club."
Meanwhile, Slovakian defender Stanislav Varga will, according to his agent, leave Celtic in the summer.
