Real Madrid great Alfredo Di Stefano is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering a heart attack, according to reports in Spain.
Di Stefano reportedly suffered a heart attack in the street close to the club’s Bernabeu stadium.
The 88-year-old is one of Madrid’s finest ever players. He was central to the club’s domination of European football in the 1950s, helping them win the European Cup for five successive seasons.
The Argentina-born forward played for the club from 1953 and 1964, winning eight Primera Division titles. Internationally, he played mainly for Spain, but also represented Argentina and Colombia.
