Birmingham have agreed personal terms with Republic of Ireland international Stephen Kelly who is expected to complete his move to St Andrews this week.

The defender is undergoing a medical with the Coca-Cola Championship club before sealing his switch to the midlands. The 22-year-old made more than 40 appearances for the north-London club after joining as a trainee in 2000.

Kelly, who made his Ireland debut last month, had only recently signed a new one-year contract at White Hart Lane but has apparently decided his future lies elsewhere.

He had endured a frustrating Premiership season as his opportunities were limited by the form of Canadian Paul Stalteri.
