Ecuador manager Luis Fernando Suarez has named an 18-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly with the Republic of Ireland in New York.
PSV Eindhoven midfielder Edison Mendez is included in the squad despite not playing any football since the Dutch season finished at the end of April.
The 28-year-old is the only foreign based player in the squad as Suarez wants to have a look at players from Ecuador's domestic league.
Argentinian-Ecuadorian goalkeeper Marcelo Elizaga is also included in the squad for the first time since he was awarded Ecuadorian nationality.
Ecuador fly to the USA on Monday and after facing Ireland they will take on Peru in Madrid on June 3, before playing them again in Barcelona three days later.
