Drogheda United 3 UCD 2

A five-goal thriller saw Drogheda deservedly take the points from this contest although UCD pushed them all the way.

United went in front on 21 minutes when Shane Grimes took a throw quickly to Gavin Brennan, who sent a low cross in for Gary O'Neill who applied the deftest of touches to send the ball to the net.

Gavin Brennan's 32nd-minute volley from the left corner of the area somehow deceived everyone to cross the line to make it 2-0.

Totally against the run of play United conceded a goal when Seán Russell crossed for Robbie Benson to tap in.
