Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny was on Thursday named Philips manager of the month for October.

Lat month Dundalk ended a 19-year wait when they clinched the SSE Airtricity League Trophy following a hard fought 2-0 victory over rivals Cork City.

This is the clubs’ 10th title and the victory, in addition to the League Cup won in September, caps a great season for the club.

Kenny joined Dundalk on a two-year contract in 2012 and guided them to runners up position. Having signed an extension to 2015 the team went one better in 2014.
