Claudio Ranieri denies he has had any contact with Manchester City but concedes the thought of a return to the Premier League appeals.
Ranieri, who was at Wembley to watch England's 1-1 draw with Brazil, decided to leave Italian club Parma after helping to keep the Serie A strugglers up and is now a free agent.
It has been reported that the former Chelsea boss will be installed as Stuart Pearce's successor at Eastlands if former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra completes his proposed takeover of the club.
"I had four years (in England), it went very, very well and I had fantastic seasons." Ranieri said. "I'd like to come back and I am looking forward."
Asked if he had been in talks with City, he replied: "No. Not yet.
"Maybe (I would be interested) but nothing is sure. For me it is exciting to save Parma.
"I like to come to England but there are also some important questions in Italy. But I love English football. Now there are seven or eight great team in England.
"Everybody wants to fight for the title and that is good for the league."
