Real Madrid presidential candidate Lorenzo Sanz says he will bring five players to the club if he wins the election on Sunday, including Brazil's Emerson and England's Michael Carrick.
"These players have agreements with my technical staff who, if we win the election, will resign if we are not able to carry out the deals on Monday," Sanz told a news conference on Thursday.
"They are Dutch defender Khalid Boulahrouz, Italian defender Gianluca Zambrotta, England midfielder Michael Carrick, Brazil midfielder Emerson and Argentinian midfielder Fernando Gago, who plays for Boca Juniors."
Sanz, Real president in the late 1990s, is one of five candidates standing in the election which was called after the board ousted Fernando Martin in April.
The election campaign has been characterised by claims from candidates to have secured various coaches and players, aimed at swinging voters their way.
On Tuesday Manchester United and Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo said he would like to play for Real aligned himself with another candidate for the election on July 2nd, Juan Miguel Villar Mir.
Although he made no firm commitment to a move he said he would open negotiations if Villar Mir wins.
"I have told my agent I am prepared to leave. I want to do it in the best manner possible. I want to play for Real Madrid and dream of doing so," Ronaldo told the Spanish sports daily Marca.
"I have gone with Villar Mir's project because it is serious and follows correct procedures. They have explained to me their plans and the next step is they will talk to Manchester United to open negotiations.
"Other candidates wanted me to sign a document which is not legal. Villar Mir has promised me he will talk to the club and all we have done is talk through an agent."
Florentino Perez famously won the 2000 election with the promise to buy Barcelona's Luis Figo. Perez quit in February.
