Robbie Keane remains one of the highest paid players in the MLS according to 2015 salary figures released by the MLS Players Union.

Keane currently takes home $4.5 million (€4.14m) a year, a figure only trumped at LA Galaxy by his new team mate Steven Gerrard who is the club's highest earner on a yearly wage of $6.2 million (€5.7m).

Kevin Doyle has also been plying his trade in the States since May when he made his debut for the Colorado Rapids and he is currently the side's best paid player earning $1.125 million (€1.04m).

The other Irish player in the MLS, Orlando City’s Sean St Ledger, is earning $125,000 (€115,000) a year, a figure dwarfed by team mate Kaka who on $6.66 million (€6.1m) is the league’s highest paid player.
