Post-match reaction:Another show of unity - this time from grand master Robson. Sir Bobby flanked Steve Staunton at the post match press conference and without hesitation or prompting from awaiting journalists he launched in, two-footed.

"At two o'clock I rang Stan...," he began, scribes simultaneously turning to each other wide-eyed. Is Bobby resigning?

"...and win lose or draw," he continued, "we decided to go into this press conference together.

"We were seeing outrageous remarks the last few days (in the media). This could have been a horrific night for Stan if we lost. But we haven't, we won."

By this stage it was clear Robson, a man who has battled back from serious ill health, wasn't throwing his hat in on medical grounds, rather outstretching a comforting arm.

"Over the next six months we should have some sensibility, something constructive, something fair," Robson, fist banging on table, implored journalists.

"We're in transition. The teams needs time to get experience. I think Stan's had a rough ride, but hopefully we're over that now. Lets get on with it, we're in a good position to attack our next games."

Staunton, meanwhile, expressed his satisfaction with another victory and clean sheet but warned that performances will have to improve.

"I thought the boys done very well but there's room for improvement and they will improve. The younger players had a taste. Night game, zip on pitch, the young lads are learning.

"I felt we produced what we did against the Czechs at home. We went at them, kept the tempo high and scored at a vital time when we were on top. Had we not we might have struggled in the second half. At this level you'll never dominate for 90 minutes."
