Transfer News:Kevin-Prince Boateng admitted it is a "dream" to have joined Tottenham after completing his move from Hertha Berlin.

The length of contract or fee for the 20-year-old midfielder has yet to be confirmed, but Spurs are reported to have agreed a deal in the region of £5.4million to beat Sevilla to the Germany Under-21 international.

Boateng quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga's biggest talents as well as being voted the country's best young player in July last year.

But he revealed the chance to make a move to the Premier League and join Martin Jol's young side was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"For me it is amazing to be in England," said Boateng on Spurs' website. "To be in London and playing for Spurs will be great for me. It has been my ambition to play in England, I am 20 now and am about to quickly realise my dream.

"I know that Spurs are a team who like to play offensive football. The club want to climb higher next season and I want to be a part of it. I watched the Premier League regularly in Germany, it is the most famous league in the world and I have always enjoyed it."

Boateng becomes Spurs boss Martin Jol's latest summer signing having already acquired a talented trio of youngsters - Darren Bent, Gareth Bale and Younes Kaboul.

And the Dutchman is confident that in Boateng he has signed yet another young fledgling who will boost Spurs' bid to break into the top four.

He explained: "Kevin is a talented player who plays for the under-21 side of his country. You could compare him with the likes of Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone in that he is an exciting player for now and the future.

Brown joins Wigan

Wigan have signed Fulham midfielder Michael Brown on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old completed his medical today before completing the paperwork at the JJB Stadium and he could make his debut in a friendly against Barnsley tonight.

Brown is the Latics' seventh new face, following Titus Bramble, Antoine Sibierski, Mario Melchiot, Andreas Granqvist, Carlo Nash and Jason Koumas into the club.

Manager Chris Hutchings said: "Like all of our signings we have done extensive research on the player and I feel he is someone who brings something new to the table.

"We have worked really hard behind the scenes to make this one happen because I believe he will make a big difference to the side and I am really happy Michael has agreed to join us.

Hutchings has been linked to West Brom's Paul Robinson and believes the defender is "keen to come on board".

Robinson is seen as a ready-made replacement for left-back Leighton Baines, for whom Wigan turned down a bid from Everton yesterday.

It is understood Robinson had a medical at Wigan yesterday and the fee would be about £1.5million, although Hutchings insisted he does not want to sell Baines, who turned down Sunderland after they had a £6million offer accepted earlier this month.

"We turned down a bid from Everton of £4million and a player, who they rate at around £2million," he told Radio Five Live. "I have a very good relationship with Leighton and we'd like him to stay but we can't stop speculation or other clubs making offers."

Hammers eye Gudjohnsen

West Ham are reportedly aiming to capture Eidur Gudjohnsen from Barcelona for £10million.

Several of today morning's papers have linked the Icelandic ace with a move to Upton Park this summer as the Hammers continue their search for new faces.

The arrival of Thierry Henry at Barcelona has left Gudjohnsen well down the pecking order and he's now highly expected to make a return to the Premier League, where he last played for Chelsea.

West Ham's approach for the 28-year-old forward has been held up by the ongoing transfer saga of Carlos Tevez but with his exit now in sight, chief executive Scott Duxbury can now turn his full attention to the club's new target.

Reports suggest Gudjohnsen would cost anywhere between £7m and £10m.

Gudjohsen's father and agent Arnor, said: "West Ham would be something Eidur would consider, as there are some Icelanders there with the owners.

"Barcelona have always told him it is up to him what he wants to do, and they will not stand in his way if he wants to go."
