Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson has come through a fitness test and declared himself fit for tonight's Uefa Cup final.

Thomson will line up against Zenit St Petersburg tonight if there is no further reaction to the foot injury he suffered during Saturday's 3-1 win over Dundee United.

After training for the first time since that game at the City of Manchester Stadium last night, Thomson said: "My foot is feeling a lot better than it did at the weekend.

"The biggest fear was as soon as I started running on it, the pain would return, but so far so good. You don't get many chances in your career to play in a match like this and wild horses won't hold me back now.

"It would mean everything to this club and to this group of players if we win and create a little bit of history. I'm desperate to play my part in it."
