New Waterford United manager Gareth Cronin has added a goalkeeper to the Blues'squad following the departure of Jimmy Fyffe last week.

Cronin has signed 29-year-old David Conroy who has been voted Ireland's Junior player of the year on a number of occasions at the eircom International Awards.

Conroy had joined Dublin City earlier this year from Ballymun United.

"David is an excellent keeper who did well every time he got a run with Dublin City," said Cronin.

"However his opportunities were limited by the excellent form of Gary Rogers but I have no doubt that David will shine in the eircom league."
