Aston Villa's Ashley Young was a surprise inclusion in the 26-man England squad named by Steve McClaren for the crucial Euro 2008 double header with Israel and Russia in September.

Blackburn midfielder David Bentley has also been handed the opportunity to win a first senior cap after being named in the party.

He was left out of the squad to face Germany in the recent match at Wembley after McClaren chose to leave him out following his refusal to take part in the Under-21 European Championships in the summer due to fatigue.
