The FAI has received a a3 million Irish Sports Council grant towards their technical development plan, reports Paul O'Hehir.
The investment, which brings to a11.33 million the total allocated by the ISC to the FAI since 2001, will be used to encourage and develop participation in soccer at underage level.
Meanwhile, four women's development officers were appointed by the association to assist in the implementation of the women's development plan.
They are Moyia Parke, Eithne Lydon, Eoin Killackey and Carol Murphy, each with responsibility for specific regions throughout the country.
