HOCKEY: St Andrew's added two more Leinster trophies to their hockey collection at Grange Road yesterday.

The under-16s not only repeated the seniors' dethronement of Wesley last week, winning a rousing Junior Cup final 3-2, but there was a further fillip for the future in a 5-0 defeat of gallant Taney NS in the under-13 decider.

Alan Sothern, who had also scored twice in the senior triumph, drove St Andrew's into a 2-0 lead with a crisp short-corner goal at the start of each half. But Wesley, spurred by Henry Micks, could well have been on level terms as Mitch Darling had struck two shots against a post.

Indeed they continued to fight back in the second period and it was Darling who had a hand in a brace of admirably struck goals by Tim Hill to make it 2-2.

There was an immediate response, however, as the St Andrew's captain, Ross Wyse, broke away on the right wing and centred for Gavin O'Halloran to sink the winner, though there remained a threat from Wesley to the final whistle.
