Roscommon SFC Final: St Brigid's 1-7, St Faithleach's 1-5 St Brigid's withstood a late St Faithleach's rally to retain the Roscommon title at Hyde Park yesterday as St Faithleach's goaled from a penalty.

With six minutes to go the St Brigid's forward Garvan Dolan was about to be substituted when he was shown a straight red card. However, the champions held out in a tense finish and Frankie Dolan sealed victory with a point.

St Brigid's, who led 0-4 to 0-3 at half-time, were leading by four points thanks to a goal by Garvan Dolan 15 seconds into the second half. Enda Kenny brought St Faithleach's back into the match in the 49th minute when he converted a penalty.

Brendan O'Brien responded with a point but Henry Kenny brought the gap back to a point after 51 minutes.
