Connacht Senior Cup / St Saran's Ferbane 10 Garbally College 8: St Saran's, Ferbane, thanks to an injury-time converted try, reached the Connacht Schools' Senior Cup final after they defeated Garbally College, Ballinasloe, in Garbally yesterday.

Garbally took the lead on 13 minutes with a penalty by Seán Carey. Aidan Wynne equalised with a penalty but Garbally regained the lead on 23 minutes through a Jack Campbell try.

St Saran's, trailing 8-3 at the break, exerted ferocious pressure in the dying stages and scored a try five minutes into injury time through full back Trevor Phelan. Following Wynne's good conversion the final whistle went.

St Joseph's 14 Colaiste Iognaid 3:

A competitive quarter-final between Galway sides St Joseph's and Coláiste Iognáid ended in victory for an experienced St Joseph's side at the Galway Showgrounds yesterday.

Tries in both halves from Patrick McGuinness and Chris Connolly put them in control. Outhalf Cormac O'Beirne, who landed both conversions, had an outstanding game to help his side seal a place in the semi-final.
