Punchestown:Charlie Swan could run Gold Cup winner One Cool Cookie in the Gold Cup at the Punchestown Festival on Wednesday. The Michael O'Leary-owned six-year-old was one of 16 entries for the Grade One Ellier Developments Champion Novice Chase next Tuesday but Swan may instead hold his charge back 24 hours.
Swan, who also has Offshore Account entered in the Champion Novice Chase, said: "Both horses are in great order and at this stage I'm considering the big race (the Guinness Gold Cup) on Wednesday for 'Cool'.
"But we'll see how things are shaping up closer to the time. I'm a bit worried about the ground for him (Offshore Account) if it's any better than good, so hopefully they'll keep watering."
Eoin Griffin has ruled his top-class staying novice hurdler Kazal out of the festival.
A winner of six of his seven starts his only reverse came at the hands of Aran Concerto in a Grade One event on his second visit to a racecourse.
However, in rattling up a five-timer, Kazal has confirmed his liking for soft ground, and with conditions set to be riding much faster at Punchestown, Griffin has already made the decision that he is finished for the campaign.
"He's definitely a non-runner and he'll be taken out at the forfeit stage," said Griffin.
