World Cup 2006 Qualifying/ Sitzerland 6; Faroe Islands: Jonathan Vonlanthen and Alexander Rey both scored hat-tricks as Switzerland eased past the Faroe Islands on Saturday.

Switzerland's new front pairing - replacing the recently retired Stephane Chapuisat and suspended Alexander Frei - wrapped up the scoring early in the second half as Switzerland dominated the match as expected.

Rey, making his first international appearance since April 2001, completed his hat-trick 10 minutes into the second half and Vonlanthen followed suit two minutes later.

Henrik Larsen, the Faroe Islands coach, made three defensive changes in an effort to limit any further damage and his side held out for the final 33 minutes despite continual pressure from the Swiss.
