Luc Alphand brought home his third consecutive World Cup downhill title yesterday, while Norway's Lasse Kjus pleased home crowds by posting his second win of the season.

Kjus stormed down the 2,888 yard Olympiabakken course in Kvitjell, Norway, to claim the last downhill before the World Cup finals in Vail. He crossed in one minute 27.12 seconds, ahead of Italy's Pietro Vitalini, second in 1:27.26. Alphand came in fifth to clinch the overall title.
