Motor Sport: Dermot Carnegie, on 69 points, George Tracey 67, John McCluskey and Christopher Evans 50 (each) battle for championship points in their supercars in Sunday's Mondello Park Rallycross.
Carnegie has won one round in his Ford Focus, as has Evans, who missed the first two rounds. Evans was in fantastic form in winning last Sunday's Rallycross Superprix at Croft, literally hurtling his Opel Astra around the Yorkshire track to beat multiple European champion Kenneth Hansen of Denmark in the supercar final.
George Tracey has won two championship rounds, and last Sunday he drove his Peugeot 306 to a rallysprint win at Mondello. Of the top four, McCluskey in his Citroen WRC is surely now also due a home win. European Alfa Challenge winner Eoin Murray leads the stockhatch class with a maximum score of 80 points.
Noel Redmond (Bunclody) in a Subaru Impreza 555, Alan Ring (Castleisland) in a Group N Subaru and Clonakilty brothers Kevin and Martin Kelleher in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo head the 150-strong entry in Sunday's Bio Tech-sponsored Kerry Winter Rally.
Mike Quinn from Lyracrompane is seeded number four in his 2.4 Ford Escort. After five rounds, Ring on 81 points has a four-point lead over Redmond in the Top Part West Coast Championship.
On Sunday, the Irish Karting club hold an exhibition at the Red Cow Moran's Hotel, which will include all the information about getting started in this popular, very competitive and relatively inexpensive sport.
As well as a display of karts and racing equipment, special cars on view will include the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix winning Jordan and the Formula Ford 1600 of Peter Dempsey. The exhibition runs from noon to 6pm and admission is free.
