Séamus Coleman and Marc Wilson will be included in the Republic of Ireland squad today by Giovanni Trapattoni for the World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria but he has conceded defeat in relation to Richard Dunne’s chances of featuring in the games. Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has acknowledged the defender may not play again this season.

Trapattoni will have to decide on which two from the likes of Seán St Ledger, John O’Shea, Darren O’Dea and Ciarán Clark will form the central defensive partnership for what will be decisive games in terms of the qualification prospects.

The FAI, meanwhile, have announced Ireland will play a friendly game against Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, June 2nd. The game will help bridge the gap between the friendly against England at Wembley on May 29th and the qualifying match with the Faroe Islands the following Friday.

The Georgia game will be preceded by the FAI Junior Cup final.
