NHL Division Three/ Tyrone 4-7; Leitrim 0-7: Tyrone needed a 10-point winning margin to clinch their place in the Division Three final, and while they looked shaky at times, they achieved their objective with two points to spare.
Peter O'Connor grabbed an opportunist goal in the 19th minute to ease them into a 1-3 to 0-1 lead, and when Joe O'Neill added a second 10 minutes before the break, they led by 2-3 to 0-3, with the help of three Paul Lavery points.
Clement Cunniffe's long-range striking kept Leitrim in the game, and they trailed by 2-4 to 0-5 at the half-time break.
The Connacht side, who also had a chance of qualifying for the final, closed the gap to just three points through Cunniffe soon after the restart.
O'Connor's second goal revived Tyrone's challenge, and Gary McGettigan grabbed the all-important fourth goal three minutes from the end of the game after Hilary Phelan had saved from Lavery.
Lavery made sure of Tyrone's final place against Sligo when he stroked a penalty over the bar in injury time.
