BASKETBALL: Three weeks into the men's Superleague only three clubs remain unbeaten, and that will be reduced to two after Sunday's meeting between UCC Demons and UCD Marian. Belfast's Star of the Sea are free this weekend so their place at the top of the table will be unthreatened.

The Cork club have home advantage and with only one injury in Shane Coughlan they would be fancied to edge ahead of UCD Marian, even though the Dublin side have a full squad.

Dublin rivals Notre Dame and ITP Saints have been drawn in next month's quarter-finals of National Cup, and their league clash this weekend will be a strong pointer towards who will come out on top there.

Notre Dame added Jon Gaines to their squad last week and already he seems set to be one of their top-scorers this season.

Elsewhere, Waterford will look to get their title defence back on track when they meet Tralee Tigers at home tomorrow, and on Monday against Limerick, who have signed Douglas Hines to replace the injured Jermaine Williams.

In the women's Superleague, it was confirmed yesterday that Maeve Coleman, formerly of Tolka Rovers, has been named as the new coach of Killester. She starts her new position with a home game against Meteors.

Old rivals Tolka Rovers and the Waterford Wildcats meet tomorrow. With the Wildcats unbeaten, and Tolka having lost once, the pressure is already on the Dublin club - who will also be without the injured Nikki O'Brien and Elaine Scally.
