UCD 2, Waterford United 1: Two second-half goals saw UCD finally come alive and power to victory over bottom-of-the-table Waterford after Paul McCarthy scored his first goal of the season to stun the home side on just nine minutes.
Substitute Patrick Kavanagh fired home the equaliser on 74 minutes after good work by Derek Doyle and Patrick McWalter for his first goal for College. Central defender Brian Shortall then won it for UCD when powering home a header from Stephen Hurley's corner.
