It took Drogheda 20 minutes to create their first chance when Kieron Quinn headed over.

With 25 minutes gone UCD created three quick opportunities through Pat Sullivan, then Alan Gallen and finally Mark Rooney but they all fluffed their chances.

UCD's Alan Cawley scored from a free with two minutes remaining but it was ruled out for an infringement in the box.
