European Cup Pool Four/ Benneton Treviso 26 Ulster 43: Ulster's European campaign may be over for another season, but at least coach Mark McCall will feel he has more options for the resumption of the Celtic League following Saturday's win.
The northern province finished third in Pool Four behind Biarritz and Saracens, but at least managed to go down in style, running in six tries, including three for wing Andrew Maxwell in a rare victory on the road in this competition.
It was Maxwell's first start for Ulster this season and the 24-year-old speedster has put down a major marker.
Andrew Trimble also gave Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan a timely reminder of his potential, using his pace and strength to score a brace of touchdowns and create two for Maxwell.
And out-of-favour outhalf Paddy Wallace also made the most of a rare opportunity, scoring a try in an impressive cameo after Adam Larkin had controlled the game with great authority as deputy to David Humphreys.
Paul Steinmetz landed a penalty and four conversions.
Treviso contributed to a thrilling spectacle with tries by Alvaro Tejeda (two), Brendan Williams and Scott Palmer.
