Celtic League / Glasgow 27 Ulster 25: Glasgow inflicted a shock defeat on Ulster at Hughenden last night. The home side had to withstand a late Ulster charge, which yielded tries from Matt McCullough and Scott Young in the closing minutes but the Irish side could not salvage a victory.
Ulster only had themselves to blame, having squandered the lion's share of possession in a bizarre opening half and found themselves nine points adrift at the interval.
A rolling maul finally paid dividends when Neil Best was driven over for the game's opening try in the 29th minute to establish an 11-3 lead. Before that Adam Larkin had converted two penalties to one by Calvin Howarth.
But as the half drew to a close, the game was remarkably turned on its head, with 17 points coming for the home side within four minutes.
