Former New Zealand captain Tana Umaga has signed a lucrative one-year deal with French second division club Toulon.

Umaga (33), will join his new team-mates in the autumn after playing for Wellington in New Zealand's National Provincial Competition.

Toulon were relegated from the French Top 14 last season after winning only three of their 26 matches.

But co-president Mourad Boudjellal is determined to see his side back among the elite and is funding Umaga's contract, reported to be worth over €300,000, himself.

Toulon have also signed England wing Dan Luger, who returns to full-time rugby after taking 12 months off, and Samoan international outhalf Roger Warren from Cardiff.

Meanwhile, outhalf Andy Dunne has quit Bath in search of regular first-team rugby in Ireland after a frustrating season at the Rec. Dunne signed from Harlequins last summer but made only four starts.

Dunne struggled behind Olly Barkley and Chris Malone in the pecking order, and Bath have also re-signed Australian Shaun Berne, who can play at both inside centre and outhalf.
