Aston Villa have accused Atletico Madrid of making an illegal approach for striker Savo Milosevic and have reported the Spanish club to FIFA and the Football Association.

Villa are upset that Atletico president Jesus Gil approached Milosevic without seeking their permission before he was transfer-listed after his infamous spitting incident at Blackburn.

Gil apparently said on Spanish radio that Madrid, Villa's opponents in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals next month, had reached an agreement with Milosevic and that he would join Atletico at the end of this season. Milosevic was made available for transfer three weeks ago.
