BASKETBALL/SUPERLEAGUE: Waterford still enjoy a four-point lead at the top of the ESB Superleague but they were certainly forced to earn the win against St Vincent's this weekend.

The home support inspired St Vincent's to a fiery first quarter and they soon opened up a 16-point lead. With Mick Richardson particularly effective they went 29-13 up, although Mike Keohane and Robert Grant clawed it back to a four-point game at the half.

The leaders then started playing like champions and went on to do some serious damage in the third quarter - hitting 43 points in all.

Vincent's battled back in the final quarter but the closest they were to come was within 10-points, eventually losing out 98-88.

Killester's title hopes were shaken as they went down 100-99 at home to Limerick.

The women's league results went to form as both the Wildcats and Tolka Rovers took the necessary wins over Glanmire and Meteors respectively. The Wildcats still hold a two-point lead on the table.
