CYCLING:Bradley Wiggins is on course for a hat-trick of gold medals at the track World Championships in Palma, Majorca, after sharing in the team pursuit victory to go with his success in the individual pursuit.
Wiggins was part of the British quartet which recorded the third fastest time in history to beat Ukraine by over five seconds in the final of the team pursuit.
Wiggins, Geraint Thomas, Ed Clancy and Paul Manning completed the 4,000 metres event in three minutes, 57.468 seconds, less than a second behind the world record set by Australia at the Athens Olympics. Wiggins will be gunning for a third gold medal in tomorrow's Madison in partnership with Rob Hayles.
United States rider Sarah Hammer retained her individual pursuit title, powering to victory over former Olympic rowing silver medallist Rebecca Romero.
