With State and University exams on the horizon, taking time out to exercise every day may be seen as a waste of good study time, but flexing those muscles or just limbering up is beneficial for students on a number of levels. Colette Sheridan reports.

Hundreds of people from marginalised backgrounds will be supported to join a teaching profession which has been criticised for being too "white, female and middle class" under a series of new access programmes. Maynooth University is launching a new initiative to support more than 100 students – such as migrants, Travellers and students from poor backgrounds – to become teachers. Carl O'Brien reports.
