Oppo has been busy in the Irish mobile market. The Chinese mobile maker has been establishing itself as the successor to the Huawei throne, striking partnerships with camera tech experts to deliver better digital photography in a package that punches above its price tag.
The Reno8 isn’t quite as fancy as the Reno8 Pro, but it has some notable features. The full HD display clocks in at 6.4 inches, with a 90Hz refresh rate, so things look relatively smooth as you scroll.

It has a good camera, with a 32 megapixel front-facing camera and a triple lens on the rear that includes a 50 megapixel main camera, macro camera and wide-angle camera. The night vision setting delivers some good low-light photos on the rear camera, with some softening on the front-facing lens.

Overall though, the images it delivers are generally great. Video maxes out at 4K at 30 frames per second, and there is no optical image stabilisation included in this model.
It supports fast charging too, which is always welcome.
