A man is to appear in court in Australia on Friday charged with murder following the death of an Irishman.
Officers from Chifley Police District in New South Wales were called to Jenolan Street in the Central Tablelands shortly after 8am on Thursday where a man with a gunshot wound was discovered.
He was treated by ambulance paramedics but he died at the scene.
The man has been named locally as Damien Conlon. He was aged in his 30s and originally from Co Sligo.

It is believed he had been living in Australia for approximately 10 years and had attained citizenship.
A 57-year-old man was arrested at the house where the wounded man was discovered and taken to Bathurst Police Station to assist with inquiries.
Following inquiries, the man was charged with murder and refused bail, to appear in Bathurst Local Court.
The circumstances of the fatal assault are unclear. However, police in New South Wales said initial inquiries suggest the two men were known to each other.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic police, and a firearm was seized for further examination.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said it was “aware of the case and is providing consular assistance”.
“As with all consular cases, the department does not comment on the detail of individual cases,” it added.
