Injured man dies after GAA club row

A 41 year-old man who has been intensive care since Sunday morning after a fight in Mullingar, died this afternoon.

A 41 year-old man who has been intensive care since Sunday morning after a fight in Mullingar, died this afternoon.

Kevin Dowling of Bracklyn, Co Westmeath, suffered severe head injuries in a fight outside St Loman's GAA club on Delvin Road, Mullingar.

The club was hosting a 21st birthday party at the time.

Mr Dowling was being treated at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

A Garda investigation into the incident is ongoing and a significant number of people have been interviewed.
