Tehran - Iran suspended a leading moderate newspaper yesterday for printing a secret report about an alleged hardline plot to muzzle the country's pro-reform press, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported.

The move came on the same day parliament approved the outlines of a bill which moderates say would impose new restrictions on press freedom.
