Dart train services were seriously delayed on Tuesday evening after a truck hit a level crossing barrier at Sandymount Dart station.

The incident happened shortly after 5pm. Dart services operating between Dún Laoghaire and Pearse Street were suspended for a time but have now resumed.

That section of the track will be closed for 30 minutes from 7.30pm for further repairs.

AA Roadwatch have warned drivers to expect delays around the area until the truck has been cleared while all valid rail tickets of those affected by the incident will be honoured by Dublin Bus.
