Sir, – I can only assume that the letter writer (September 19th) who suggests that Ireland rejoin the Commonwealth is so overcome with awe on the passing of Queen Elizabeth, the ascension of Charles to the throne, the incredible display of pomp and pageantry of the past days, that he wants to be part of it.
