Sir, – I was delighted at the outcome of the Kneecap debacle. What a waste of court time and money. It also gave free publicity to the band which is a plus for them.

For decades and longer, artists/singers (eg Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen) have written/sung about political issues. What’s different this time is puzzling to me, what’s changed?

I do hope that artists and singers continue to condemn and speak out in verse and voice about injustice and oppression wherever they deem fit and where appropriate. – Yours, etc,
