Sir, – Wishing to acknowledge the arrival of a new baby to some friends, I went rather hastily into a card shop and saw a “Welcome to the world” greeting, which I thought was quite appropriate.
Having more time to look at the card when I got home, I found the message was meant for a new dog.
Funny, I never knew until then that dogs could read. – Yours, etc,
