Sir, – In an effort to get with the times and “live and let live” I’ve allowed swallows to build in the apex of my house and have dealt with the results. Earlier this year they returned and to my surprise added another beautifully crafted addition to last year’s roost.
Call it coincidence if you like, but three weeks ago following the relaxation of building rules for back garden dwelling construction, they’ve now added a third home attached to the existing apartment complex.
They’ll be away shortly but unfortunately they don’t clean up their Guano deposits after themselves, and I’m wondering if I can get a tax break or help from the council to keep the place in good order and assist in restoring domestic harmony. – Yours, etc,
TOMÁS FINN,
