Sir, – I have been amazed at the irresponsible tone of letters from grown adults and Fintan O'Toole's article in support of schoolchildren's "strikes" in protest at climate change (Opinion & Analysis, March 5th). Might I propose a novel suggestion in response to those who are now reaping in adulthood the benefits of a full education: stay in school, learn about climate change, obtain a good education, attain a position of responsibility and use that to effect a change? Just an alternative to missing a day of school to stand in the cold. – Yours, etc,
CIARÁN McDONNELL,
