Sir, – Saturday's Irish Times included a wonderful article about Ireland's generally ignored city – Waterford – by Harry McGee, your political correspondent, with contributions by many prominent citizens.
The article showed how the oldest city in Ireland feels “sidelined in health, education and jobs . . .” But there was not a word about a very basic need. Waterford is the only city in Ireland without a bus service on Sundays and bank holidays – not even a service to facilitate Waterford Regional Hospital. Not your reporter’s fault. He did us proud. – Yours, etc,
JOHN JOHNSTON- KEHOE,
Waterford.
