Sir, – The National Lottery Lotto draw has been capped at €19 million for the past 13 draws. The company’s website states that surplus money each week goes to the next prize tier. But later it says the surplus is spread to other tiers.
Would it not be reasonable that the National Lottery should clearly state the total of surplus funds and how that is allocated to lower prizes.
In theory, the lower prizes could eventually exceed the €19 million jackpot.
More fundamentally, it would be more fair if it stated the odds of winning all the prizes on all its games.

Players are entitled to know what they are buying. It would then be less Looto than Lotto.
